PIELC-Building

Welcome to Phillip Island Early Learning Centre

PIELC began operations as an integrated children’s service on Cowes Primary School land in 2013. The service offers sessional Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten, Long Day Care and After-Kindergarten care. Maternal and Child Health Services also operate from our premises.

At Phillip Island Early Learning Centre, we view children as being inquisitive; full of curiosity and wonder. They are strong, competent and intellectual. They are creators, imaginative thinkers and problem solvers. They are ready to learn and make sense of their world. We provide an environment where children can develop their understanding of the world through the development of broadly based knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to establish strong foundations to support start their lifelong learning.

Through play-based learning, children gain new knowledge, learn to make meaningful decisions, and demonstrate consideration and compassion. Our emphasis is on community-based and sustainable practices, inclusion and equality.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia. Phillip Island Early Learning Centre has proudly received an Exceeding rating under the National Quality Standards.

Our Centre is located on the lands of the Bunurong people.  We acknowledge and pay respect to their Elders and all Aboriginal communities. We honour and respect Traditional owners, past and present, and emerging, and value the rich culture and history of the First Peoples of this land.

Phillip Island Early Learning Centre is committed to Child Safety
